Nigel Killalea's hill end work and before dark were purchased through visitor's donations.
These works were inspired by the artist's productive residency at Hill End. before dark is one of three drawings purchased from that series. The Gallery also holds another Killalea work titled camp shelter 111 which was a finalist in theCountry Energy Landscape Prize in 2007. Killalea was a finalist in the Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award in 2012 and his entry was purchased by Grafton Regional Gallery.
