Picture Coffs Harbour was a joint project of Coffs Harbour City Library and Coffs Harbour Regional Museum, which aimed to digitally preserve and improve access to historical photographs significant to the Coffs Harbour region. These pictures were drawn from the Library's and, in particular, the Museum's extensive collections.
The images depict all aspects of life in the Coffs Harbour region from earliest settlement through to more contemporary pictures. They display the area's growth and development over time, as well as local characters and landmarks. If a picture is worth a thousand words then this project told an incredible story of Coffs Harbour.
Work commenced on the project in January 2008 and was supported by staff and volunteers for over a decade. The photographs and postcards digitised as part of the Picture Coffs Harbour project have been included in our new collections service, and can be found via the 'Photograph' tab on the home page.
