The Bananacoast Opinion was a free local newspaper published in Coffs Harbour and distributed south to Nambucca, north to Woolgoolga and west to Dorrigo between 1973 and 1978. The publication was included in the National Library of Australia's 'national missing newspaper list' until the entire run was uncovered in the collections of the Coffs Harbour Regional Museum. These lone surviving originals are now housed at the State Library of New South Wales.

Digitisation of the newspapers was funded by Coffs Harbour City Council, and are available on the National Library of Australia's Trove service, which you can browse here.
