These mooring buoys link Woolgoolga with a past era - the cedar getters, the teamster, the timber trade - an era commencing after the building of the first Jetty in 1884 - Standing on the site of a railway line which brought timber from Corindi and Woolgoolga Creek, the buoys are a symbol of a once busy port - the town's lifeline - a mecca for overseas and coastal shipping.
Description
Two buoys originally from the Woolgoolga Jetty, painted by artist Sev Appleton. Located on the corner of Wharf and Beach Streets, alongside Woolgoolga Caravan Park.
