Description

The ANZAC Day ceremony was held at ANZAC Park. This was the small triangular island at the junction of Moonee and Grafton Streets, which some years earlier had been named Burke Park by the Shire Council.

In 1948 Lt-Col G. A. Patterson, president of the Coffs Harbour RSL Sub-Branch, controlled the march and the Anzac Park proceedings, while the final service was conducted by Rev H. E. Hunt, supported by the Junior Red Cross Choir. [Source: Coffs Harbour Vol II : 1946 - 1964 , Yeates, pp.66-67]
