Description

The train left the Coffs Harbour Jetty Station and pulled into Raleigh Station about 10.30am. The platform was crowded with representatives of Coffs Harbour and future Bellinger passengers. The Raleigh-Urunga and Urunga-Macksville sections of the North Coast Railway were opened in 1923. From that time onwards there was a direct link between Coffs Harbour and Sydney. Prior to this all railway equipment needed for use in the Coffs Harbour region had to be brought in by ship and unloaded onto the Jetty.
