Quartz ore sample taken from the Mountain Maid Mine, Lower Bucca, NSW. The sample is irregular in shape, with blue and rust-red coloured streaks throughout. The presence of blue and rust-red coloured streaks are typically thought to indicate that the sample contains gold and iron.

"My preference is for a rusty type of quartz which shows a little iron (hence the rust).
