Home-made water skis
Thought to be first handmade skis in Coffs Harbour c. 1960. Wood, rubber and metal construction.
Description
Homemade water ski. The front end curves upwards and has a yellow triangular piece of material screwed onto it. The rear foothold is a single leather strap. The front foothold has a slip-on covering for the front part of the foot and a metal horseshoe-shaped section on which to rest the heel. There are three aluminium fins on the underside of the ski at the back. The edge of the ski is painted yellow.
