Artist StatementThe Wilderness surfboard factory was romantically surrounded by sugar cane and swamp at Palmers Channel, inland a bit from Angourie. This was a barbecue in the backyard in 1969. In the foreground are Robert and Di Conneeley; on their left, Gary Keys. Blowing into the fire is Gary’s brother Terry, watched by Chris Brock's girlfriend Val.
