Metal framed bicycle painted black. The front wheel is smaller than the back to accommodate a large wicker basket. There is a metal sheet slung between the top tube and the down tube, which was presumably painted and used as advertising. A more modern black saddle and blue headlights have been added.
This bicycle was used by Arnold Hannaford in Tamworth pre-World War II. He was apprenticed as a baker to his brother Eric and used the bicycle to deliver bread around town. After World War II the Hannaford family moved to Coffs Harbour where Arnold and his six brothers owned and ran banana plantations. Arnold also served on the Coffs Harbour Shire Council, including a term as Shire President.
