The Burrell Agricultural Traction Engine
This tractor is a one quarter size of the original tractor engine. The model was built by Mr Alan Chapman and donated to the museum. The original drawings were converted to scale by H R Plastow. The model was built from 1979-85.
The original tractor was built c. 1900 by a company called Charles Burrell & Son in Thetford, England. During World War I the company produced munitions for the war effort.
Description
1/3rd scale model traction engine. Miniature Burrell road locomotive single cylinder named "Dorene". Presented in clear Perspex display cabinet.
