Significance Statement
A 3" to 1'-0" Scale (1/4 Scale) miniature reproduction working model of an original Foden "C" type, 6 ton capacity Steam Lorry (wagon), (circa 1920's but typical of Overtype Steam Lorries produced in England in the 1920's and 1930's). The original was built by E. Foden, Sons & Co. Ltd. at Elworth Works in Sandbach, Cheshire, England. This firm is still in operation under the name "Fodens Ltd.", producing heavy road vehicles; however production of steam powered vehicles ceased by the late 1930's. The scale model drawings were prepared by Mr. T. Morris, Seisdon, Staffordshire, England. This miniature was built during the period 1984 to 1996 by Alan Chapman of Coffs Harbour.
