This space shuttle started off life as a hovercraft project by a person in Sydney who had ambitions of flying it around the harbour. The body was built first, but it was too small for the size of the engine needed for a hovercraft! Trevor Freestone bought the body, brought it up to the Village and renamed it the 'SS Dragonfly - Space Ambulance'.

The Woolgoolga Adventure Village on Pullen Street opened in 1977 and was built and run by Trevor and Anna Freestone. It included miniature houses children could play in, including tree houses, New Guinea spirit houses, and a space shuttle. The village also had a ridable miniature railway, and offered donkey rides.
