The Parade was organised to celebrate the end of the First World War in November 1918. 

Black and white photograph of a street scene at Perry's General Store, corner of High and Grafton Streets. Written advertising on the building indicates that the store sells mercery, clothing, grocery, drapery, millinery, boots and shoes, ironmongery and furniture. There are a number of horse drawn vehicles on this small stretch of street as well as a couple of cars. The horse drawn wagon traveling down the street in the foreground seems to have a sign indicating they offer saddle and harness repairs. It's not clear if this wagon is perhaps part of a parade given the number of people on its tray. Numerous unknown people, both children and adults, and family groups are on the street and in the vehicles. Umbrellas are being used to protect from the sun.
