Shodboards
Timber-getters balanced precariously on springboards to fell the huge trees of the local rainforest. These examples were known as shodboards because their ends have metal shoes, not unlike horse shoes, applied to their ends to make them last longer.
Description
Shodboard for timber-getting. Wooden plank with metal shoe on pointed end. Shoe ridged at tip and bolted on in four places. Two holes in plank at opposite end to shoe.
