3" to 1'-0" scale miniature reproduction working model of an original Australian Logging Wagon built by Harry Hand of Kempsey (circa 1925 but quite typical of such wagons built from the mid 19th century on). The remains of the original of this wagon are located beside the highway in front of the swimming pool at Macksville. The original wagon was initially fitted with a draw-bar to suit a bullock team or horse team but in its latter years of use on a farm in the Macksville area, the draw-bar was shortened to be suitable for use with a tractor. The scale drawings and model were produced by Alan Chapman of Coffs Harbour during the period early 1983 to mid 1985. The dogs, chains and "Spanish windlass" hold downs for the logs are typical of those made by Arch Hunter, Coffs Harbour blacksmith.
