Description
Foot-operated industrial stapler used to staple cardboard cartons. Cardboard cartons gradually took over from timber boxes in the 1970s. This stapler cost around $200 purchased 10/2/1975, a significant investment at that time. Cartons were not universally welcomed in the industry due to concerns about its strength and damp. Cardboard cartons only really took off when the Pacific Highway and the conditions for trucks improved. The use of staples was discontinued because it prevented recycling. David’s sister Helen made many cardboard cartons using this machine.
