“Tabloid” was patented name for Burroughs Wellcome Tablets. These were essentially a good quality A.P.C. tablets. A.P.C. (Asprin, Phenacetin & caffeine). Phenacitin has gone out of use. It seems it has been proven to be responsible for hardening of the liver, when people took a lot of it over a period of time.
