I’m pretty sure that we met Geoff Culmsee out in the water, and the only reason that I know that this elegant factory of his was at Cowaramup is because of a caption in Sue-Lyn Aldrian-Moyle’s excellent book, ‘Surfing Down South’. One thing that I DO remember was the generosity of the welcome that Nigel Coates and I had from the local surfers in 1971, and when we returned the following year, THAT stuck in my mind and, I hope, influenced my own attitude towards visitors on my home breaks.Accession NumberG2024.1.14Credit LineDonation by artist - John WitzigAccess AdviceFor research purposes only.
