Annie Hoschke worked at the post office, having it relocated to Ferndale after the original Post Office burnt down in 1915. Ferndale was the family home, located at the intersection of Upper Orara Road and Dairyville Road. The Post Office was later operated by Annie's niece, Ada Davis.
