Description
Ribbon made from red felt, with the word STEWARD printed in yellow. These types of ribbons were commonly used at Agricultural Shows and possibly other rural events.
At the Coffs Harbour Show, the Steward Ribbon was first introduced in 1960. The ribbons are worn so that the public and riders can identify Stewards easily, and with that, their status and role in ensuring all runs smoothly in the Pavilion (with cakes, jams, pickles, craft, etc), the horse and cattle arenas, and other events in the show.
The appearance of the Steward Ribbon has not changed over time, although the felt may soon be substituted by a more economical fabric. The ribbons were pinned to the Steward's jacket or jumper.
