Description
A Cinevox "Prefect" 16mm Sound Projector enclosed in a black fabric covered wooden case. Hinged at the base, one side of the wooden case opens and can be slid off the hinge pins, to reveal the projector in situ in the other half of the case, which remains standing upright. The case has a leather handle attached to the top with metal brackets. Each of the 8 corners of the case has been reinforced with metal protectors.
The speakers are housed in another black fabric covered wooden case. It is hinged on one side. This side can be slid off the hinge pins. The case has 4 rubber feet screwed into the base, and each of the 8 corners of the case has been reinforced with metal protectors. A leather handle has been attached to the top of the speaker with metal brackets. A geometric design has been cut out of the speaker side of the case. A piece of maroon and white flecked fabric has been attached to the inside of the case to cover the cut out areas, behind which 2 speakers are positioned.
Other items housed in the speaker case are an extremely long extension cord for attaching into the projector unit; a metal film reel and film reel arm; and the transformer.
The accompanying transformer unit has 2 electrical cords. One is for connection to a wall outlet; the other cord connects the transformer to the projector. The transformer is housed in a grey metal case which has 6 horizontal vents on each of the 4 sides.
Both the projector and the transformer units are extremely heavy for their size, but portable. There is an accompanying 48 page instruction manual for the projector.
This projector was used to show movies at local halls in Coramba and North Beach.
