As you look from Warmun over to Turkey Creek, behind the Roadhouse there is a big hill. Just a big round shape rising from out of the flat country. The Kitja people have always said this hill is important. In the Ngarrangkarni (Dreamtime) a crow lived in that hill. In the Dreamtime, the crow was actually a man. He still lives there - his spirit is in that hill. There really is a permanent crow appearing on that hill - can't be the same one, but there's always one there. It looks down on Kitja country and tells the people many things that have happened or are about to happen. He's an important part of their lives.Accession Number012.2019Access AdviceFor research purposes only. No reproduction without permission of Yarrila Arts and Museum.
