The river was once know as The Red Bank River now known as the Corindi River (there has been a song written about it by a local person Errol Gray)

On River bank is one of the two wooden boat ramps; wooden retaining wall built by Arthur Carpenter (caretaker 1953) and Bob Dean. Timber for the wall and boat ramps were Tea Tree Logs cut at Jew Point.
