Cliff O'Toole worked at local sawmills, as did his father. He helped to build the sawmill that was on the site of Park Beach HomeBase, and travelled around building others around the state. He also worked driving bullock teams. Cliff talks about setting up both the Coffs Harbour and Sawtell Surf Lifesaving Clubs, boat building and fishing.
