Reg Reed was from Cornwall, England. He talks about difficult times in England during the Great Depression. He served in first the Air Force and then the Navy, and recalls his aircraft carrier being torpedoed on 17 September 1939. The ship sank in 20 minutes, and he was rescued around three hours later. Reg recalls other wartime experiences. He moved to Australia in 1956 to escape the cold and worked with Qantas. He recalls his experience as a new migrant.
