Roy Fowler remembers arriving in Coffs Harbour in 1904 on the S.S. Cooloon with Captain Colvin at the wheel. His family lived with Eugene Rudder before Roy's father selected land in Nana Glen. He talks about men in the area shooting koalas for their skins, and the hard work that went into setting up the farm. His family moved to Korora in 1913 where they set up a banana plantation alongside Mr Campbell. He mentions the pioneering banana farmers Tom Cox and Hermann Rieck and talks in depth about the work involved in banana farming. Roy also talks about the early development of the local area. Coffs to Glenreagh was the last link built in the North Coast railway line.
