This guide was prepared to mark the 100^th Anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli during WWI. The Coffs Harbour Regional Museum researched the names of all the soldiers (and Sister Jessie Buchanan) inscribed on the World War I Honour Boards from Karangi, Lower Bucca and St John's Anglican Church. Mr. T. (" Johnny'') Boyle, late of this town, has established himself in a bakery business In Macksville, J.B. could use the boxing gloves and the billiard cue pretty skilfully before be donned the khaki for the biggest fight of all.

While he was on active service, Johnny Boyle married Cecile Louise Levasseur in Montivilliers (France), and they returned to Australia together in 1919.
