One of three letters from H. E. Best of the New South Wales Government Tourist Bureau to the Licensee of the Plantation Hotel. In the letter, the Director and Secretary of the Tourist Bureau is requesting accomodation on behalf of Mrs. Ephraim Bass and her nurse and driver. Mrs. Bass was expected to arrive in Coffs Harbour on the 21st of July 1960 and leave on Sunday the 24th of July 1960. The text is typewritten and includes an annotated note by the manager in blue pen, possibly costing for the booking. The heading of the letter has the address and logo of the New South Wales Tourist Bureau.

The building of the Plantation Hotel was one of the signals of “a new dynamism”(Coffs Harbour: Volume II, 1946-1964, by Neil Yeates, 1990, p. 140 (physical copy can be accessed at the Coffs Harbour Library, https://coffsharbour.spydus.com/cgi-bin/spydus.exe/FULL/WPAC/BIBENQ/6147080/336678,2).
