Description
One of three letters from H. E. Best of the New South Wales Government Tourist Bureau to the Licensee of the Plantation Hotel. In the letter, the Director and Secretary of the Tourist Bureau requests the cancellation of previously booked accomodation on behalf of Mrs. Ephraim Bass. The trip was cancelled due to Mrs. Bass suffering a heart attack in New York. The text is typewritten and includes an annotated note by the manager in blue pen on the bottom left. The heading of the letter has the address and logo of the New South Wales Tourist Bureau.
The hotel was to have 24 bedrooms and other trading quarters, including lounges, parlours, a saloon, public bar, beer garden and bottle department (The Australian National University Open Research Library has a record of the building specifics and photographs of the curved facade, https://openresearch-repository.anu.edu.au/handle/1885/118609).
